Differences in the characteristics of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma ≤5 mm and >5 mm in diameter.
BACKGROUND The behavior and optimal management of papillary thyroid microcarcinomas (PTMCs) after thyroidectomy remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinicopathologic features and tumor recurrence rates of patients with PTMCs ≤5 mm and >5 mm in diameter after total thyroidectomy. METHODS A group of patients with PTMCs ≤5 mm (n=83) has been compared to a group with >5 m...
متن کاملComparison of less lethal 40 mm sponge projectile and the 37 mm projectile for injury assessment on human thorax
Since there is an increasing interest in avoiding human body injury in diverse situations like crowd control or peacekeeping missions, less lethal ammunition are more and more used. In this study we focus only on kinetic energy non-lethal (KENLW) projectiles. Their desired effects on human body are the temporary incapacitation through blunt trauma. There are different types of KENLW projectiles...
متن کاملRandomized controlled multicentre study comparing short dental implants ( 6 mm ) versus longer dental implants ( 11 - 15 mm ) in combination with sinus
AIM To test whether or not the use of short dental implants (6 mm) results in an implant survival rate similar to long implants (11-15 mm) in combination with sinus grafting. METHODS This multicentre study enrolled 101 patients with a posterior maxillary bone height of 5-7 mm. Patients randomly received short implants (6 mm) (group short) or long implants (11-15 mm) with sinus grafting (group g...
متن کاملMM-VLBI with ALMA
This memo reviews the requirements for using the ALMA array as a part of a global VLBI array at millimeter wavelengths. ALMA can be outfitted for VLBI at modest cost and should be planned with this capability in mind, as it may be more difficult to retrofit at a later date. The essential features required in the ALMA design are discussed.
